Off grid system for low voltage.
An off grid solar system can be the right solution for an inhabited building with no other source of electricity. It can also solve low voltage on a single-phase connection to Elektroprivreda Srbije, the national grid.
These cases are rare, but they happen. For example, the last house from the transformer station in the mountains of Serbia usually gets about 200 V. When stronger appliances are switched on, the voltage can drop to 170 V. That is a real problem if you want to weld something or heat water with electricity.
In that case an off grid solar system, with enough panels and battery capacity for the household, keeps a stable 230 V to the appliances. Even if the grid supply goes down, the system can keep working without interruption, on its own or together with a generator.
We used a single-phase system as the example, because this happens most often on single-phase grid connections. An off grid solar system can also be adapted for a three-phase connection.
